Donald Young School gives back to the community
Students and parents of Donald Young School brought some Christmas cheer to the community this week. Students ask a great
deal of the community in terms of selling magazines and other items. This was
an opportunity for them to show their appreciation and give back to the community.
A total of 90 small trays of homemade baked goods were delivered to the elderly. Students of Donald Young School created adorable handmade cards to go along with each tray of homemade baking. Tammy Kinnear and John Pierce, parent volunteers, put each tray together from a selection of baked goods donated by students' families. Student volunteers greeted seniors in the Golden Age Manor, Queen Street Manor and hospital with a "Merry Christmas" as they presented the wonderful treats. The students received many smiles and much appreciation in return. Christmas is truly a time for giving.
