STEPS TO RESOLVE A CONCERN

Public accountability and accessibility remain areas of high priority at the Rainy River District School Board. We welcome participation and feedback. A close working relationship among partners in education, the home, and school, is essential to student achievement. While encouraging each partner to carry out his or her proper role in this school community, it is recognized that differences of opinion and problems may arise from time to time.

Step 1- Teacher
Handle the concern as soon as possible. If possible, arrange a peronal interview with the teacher to discuss the concern and attempt to resolve the matter at this stage.

Step 2- Principal
The second contact should be to involve the Principal directly if the two parties are unable to resolve the matter.

Step 3- Superintendent
The third contact should be the Superintendent.

Step 4- Director
If the concern is not settled at the Superintendent's level, the fourth contact should be to involve the Director of Education.

Step 5
A person may take the matter to the Board if the concern is not resolved satisfactorily at the Director's level.
