Rainy River K-12 Consolidation

Rainy River District School Board receives funding for consolidation

The Rainy River District School Board is pleased to announce that it will receive $5.17 million dollars from the Ministry of Education’s Capital Priorities program to consolidate Rainy River High School and Riverview Public School within a renovated Rainy River High School. The Ministry of Education also approved the Board’s contribution of $4.9 million for the project.

The renovated school will accommodate students from JK to Grade 12 and will include an expansion of the gymnasium and enclosure of the courtyard. Consolidation in a renovated school will allow for implementation of cost effective strategies, account for declining enrolment and underutilization of facilities, and address renewal needs and aging infrastructure.
