The IT Program Coordinator will work as part of a team with the Computer Systems Administrator, other program Coordinators, Principals and Site Administrators to provide training, assistance, guidance and support for the integration of computer and IT skills: as an educational tool in the classroom. as an administrative and information management tool. More specifically the IT Program Coordinator will: facilitate staff training as it relates to the various software applications in use in the district. provide classroom demonstrations for teachers and students on the use of a variety of software applications. facilitate the review process for new software and subsequently the acquisition of appropriate software. provide training and support for the implementation of the Student Information System (Trillium), electronic version of the Ontario Report Card (Elementary and Secondary), achievement tracking software, Ontario Curriculum Unit Planner, integration of the World Wide Web in student inquiry and problem solving activities. provide for the communication of IT related topics through the use of FirstClass, the Board Web Page and newsletter. review and identify top educational web sites and share these with the appropriate staff. support the duties of the Site Contacts and facilitate communication, sharing and training of this team. prepare and administer all related budgets.
