- coordinate the Achievement Schools Project
- work with staff and SERTS to provide training/coaching
on effective literacy and numeracy strategies
- ensure that all students are plotted on a division-wide
literacy level continuum
- establish and facilitate Professional Learning
Communities that meet every 3-4 weeks to monitor individual student
growth on the continuum as well as focused Professional Development
based on best practice and the individual needs of each school
- establish a centralized area for literacy resources,
inventory current resources, identify gaps/resource needs and assist
in the ordering of resources that will support classroom programs
- meet regularly with Student Achievement Teachers
to mentor/coach/support
- provide support with the implementation of system
literacy, numeracy and long range plans
- assist staff in the completion of the classroom
profiles in the Fall and Spring
- work with staff and Principals/Vice Principals
to disaggregate and analyze EQAO results/item information reports as
well as in-house assessments to set targets for improvement
- support home/school/Community partnerships in
the areas of literacy and numeracy
