More than 20 staff members of the Rainy River District School Board will be receiving training tomorrow and Thursday on the Secret Agent Society Training Program, which will be implemented in our schools in the fall. The program, aimed at helping students 8 to 12 years of age crack the code of emotions and friendships, will be delivered by Renae Beaumont PhD, a clinical psychologist and Senior Visiting Research Fellow at the Department of Psychiatry, Weill Cornell Medicine, New York Presbyterian Hospital. For her PhD, Dr. Beaumont developed a gaming-based social-emotional skills training program for children and families – Secret Agent Society (SAS). Given the challenges that many children face in navigating our modern world, Dr. Beaumont’s work is fundamental to optimizing the well being and success of our future generations. RRDSB staff are excited to learn from Dr. Beaumont in how to further support our students in skills that will help them be successful in their pathway.
