Summer Learning Program

The Rainy River District School Board will offer a Summer Learning Program for students in SK to grade 5 from July 2 to July 19, 2019. 

Programs are led by qualified teachers and will provide students with a balanced day of academics and recreation.

The primary focus of the Summer Learning Program is to support students in obtaining the essential Ontario curriculum literacy and numeracy expectations while maintaining or increasing individual students’ skill development.

Registering your child

Who: Students in SK to Grade 5 during the 2018-2019 school year are eligible to register for the program.  Students most in need of literacy and numeracy support will be given priority for acceptance into the program.

How:
Complete the registration form and return it to your child’s school.

Deadline: Tuesday, June 18, 2019. Parents and Guardians will receive an email confirmation by June 2, 2019.

Proposed locations for the programs:  JW Walker Public School and Donald Young School

Times:  All programs  will run from 8:30—1:30

Program Dates:  July 2– July 19

A minimum number of 15 students  must be registered for a program to run in a school.  Parents and Guardians are asked to commit to having their children attend all 3 weeks of the program.

Additional Information

  • Parents/guardians are required to meet the teachers on the first day of the program.
  • Transportation to and from the Summer Learning Program will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
  • Healthy snacks will be provided.
  • There is no fee for students to participate in this program.
