Presenter: Dr. Shelley Moore
Description: Dedicated to empowering schools and classrooms to support diverse learners, Dr. Shelley Moore increases awareness and shifts educators’ thinking and practice with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion, particularly in the area of disability. Through engaging storytelling, Dr. Moore takes audiences on a powerful journey, underscoring the importance of inclusive education for all students.
Based on Canada’s west coast, Dr. Moore earned her master’s degree from Simon Fraser University and her Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia, where she focused on inclusive education theory and practices. Drawing from her experience as a student, teacher, and researcher, Dr. Moore continues to advocate for and promote inclusion and equity for all learners.

Topic: Understanding How to Support Students Through a Trauma-Informed Lens (Secondary Educators and Secondary Administrators) (AM) – Part 2

Description: Dr. David Tranter will continue to support secondary educators on how teachers work within the system—how we teach, communicate, and support each other. By understanding and clarifying the deeper purpose, or the "why" behind our actions. Dr. Tranter will also highlight the importance of recognizing the complexity and interconnectedness of education systems, promoting flexibility, experimentation, and adaptation to foster healthier environments for both students and educators.

Description: Elementary educators will be introduced to innovative tools and resources to enhance their STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) skills and teaching strategies. With a focus on meeting the diverse needs of students, this session will empower educators to confidently teach new expectations in the Revised Science & Technology Curriculum and engage students in meaningful, real-world STEM learning experiences.
