What is the Words Matter Campaign?
The Words Matter Campaign by Harmony helps schools create inclusive environments by addressing harmful and discriminatory language. It provides educators, students, and families with resources, training, and support to recognize, respond to, and prevent language that perpetuates racism, homophobia, ableism, and other forms of discrimination, fostering respect and belonging in school communities.
In November 2025, the Rainy River District School Board partnered with Harmony to begin training on addressing harmful language. This ongoing initiative will continue within the board, with plans to expand the effort to include students and families in the future.
