Character in Action

The new Character in Action program aligns with the Ministry of Education's directives and focuses on the empowerment of all stakeholders in fostering the democratic ideals of citizenship, justice, thoughtful decision-making, and enhanced quality of life.

Early Years Program

French as a Second Language

The vision of the FSL program is to have "Students in English-language school boards have the confidence and ability to use French effectively in their daily lives."

New Teacher Induction Program (NTIP)

The goal of the New Teacher Induction Program (NTIP) is to provide new teachers with the professional development and individualized support they need to be successful in their beginning years of teaching.

Outers

This outdoor education project is offered to Grade 11 students at Atikokan High School, and is designed to present challenges which develop confidence and self-reliance while demonstrating the importance of effective interpersonal skills and teamwork to overcome adversity.

Public Library and eBook Initiative

This project provides full library access to all Early Years (EY) to Grade 12 students of the Rainy River District. If you live in an area that normally has to pay to use your library, your child can get a student membership at no cost.

Reading Recovery

Reading Recovery is a short-term early intervention for first-grade students having difficulty in learning to read and write. Reading Recovery-trained teachers work one-to-one with the lowest-achieving students.

Dual Credits and School Within a College (SWAC)

The School College Work Initiative (SCWI) is a program that allows high school students to work concurrently towards their high school and college educations through a variety of dual credit programs.

Young Men and Young Women's Conferences

Education and full all rolled into one weekend! It is an opportunity to meet new people, learn about important issues, reflect on goals and dreams, and to have a great time!
