The New Teacher Induction Program

The New Teacher Induction Program provides new teachers with the professional development and individualized support they need. It also gives experienced teachers the opportunity to grow and deepen their professional practice by mentoring a new teacher. The program consists of three elements: orientation to the school and school board, professional development, and mentoring. As well new teachers will complete two performance appraisals in their first year of teaching as a permanent employee. A new teacher will complete the NTIP once they receive two satisfactory ratings in performance appraisals, the principal has signed off on their Individual Strategy Form, and this information has been forwarded to the Human Resources Department.
