Congratulations to the following on their 25 Years of Service to the Board: Cristol Baily and Nicole Evans (in absentia).
Here’s a summary of a speech from J.W Walker School Principal Sonia Ahrens: 
Cristol has shaped countless minds with wisdom, patience and dedication. Throughout her career she has taught across many grades and has made many differences in special education and enhancing the learning experience of students, especially ones with learning needs. 
Cristol’s 25 years is a testament to her commitment to education and we express our deepest gratitude and thank her for dedication and continued service.  

Recognition of Excellence
Mine Centre School Women’s and Men’s Teachings
Principals Cecilia Stewart and Barbe Dennis from Mine Centre School shared a presentation on the Mine Centre School Women’s and Men’s Teachings, highlighting the school’s commitment to working with Indigenous partners, Elders and Knowledge Keepers to support student achievement and well-being. Their presentation focused on activities like making ribbon skirts, making snares, survival situations, how to build a fire to stay warm and building shelters, and the many valuable teachings students have received from Elder Dorothy Friday and Knowledge Keeper Stacey Boshey from the communities of Seine River and Nigigoonsiminikaaning First Nation.

System-Program/Curriculum Success
Beth Fairfield, Superintendent of Education, Rob Donaldson, Experiential Learning Lead / OYAP Recruiter and Marlon Douglas, Techways Coordinator presented highlights of the Job Readiness and Pathway programs within the Board. They discussed the Techways, Co-op and Dual Credits programs for students, emphasizing the hands-on learning students receive and student engagement.
