Recognition of Excellence

Employee Recognition: 

Executive Officer of Employee and Labour Relations Kevin, Knutsen, recognized the 25th service anniversaries of Barb Eldridge and Jennifer Leishman and the retirements of Tracy Roen, Krista Williams and Julie Ste. Croix.

Vice Principal Melanie Williams of Donald Young School recognized Andrea Smith for her 25th anniversary with the RRDSB.

Principal of Fort Frances High School Intermediate Sonja Ahrens recognized the retirement of Jody Bonner-Vickers.

Principal of Fort Frances High School Bradley Gascoigne recognized the retirements of Duane Roen and Brian Church.

Vice Principal of Fort Frances High School Tracy Rob recognized the retirement of Kelly Connor.

Superintendent of Business Nadia Allison recognized the retirement of Jennifer Langtry.

Recognition of Service Awards:

Chief Executive Officer Heather Campbell recognized Bus Driver of the Year, Evelyn Martin, and Community Partner of the Year, Gizhewaadiziwin Health Access Centre.

Chair Kathryn Pierroz recognized Volunteer of the Year, Krista Brusven, and Employees of the Year Bobbi Guimond-Morris and Kathleen Matheson.

System-Program/Curriculum Success:

RRDSB Speech Contest

Literacy Lead Lynne Avis provided a presentation on the annual RRDSB Speech Contest.

Grade 6 Donald Young Student Kingston, winner of the Junior Division, presented her speech, “Red Hair”.

Grade 7 Donald Young Student Ronni, winner of the Intermediate Division, presented her speech, “Marie Curie”.

Quest for Knowledge – Gagwe-gikandemaawiziwin

First Nation, Métis, and Inuit (FNMI) Education Lead Kim Kirk, FNMI Coordinator Karen Papineau, and Anishinaabemowin teachers Claudette Bruyere and Jannelle Andy, provided a presentation on the annual Quest for Knowledge – Gagwe-gikendamaawiziwin competition where RRDSB students placed first and second in the Junior Division and swept the Intermediate Division.

Students Erika and Jasper shared their experiences of participating in the competition.
