Welcome to Rainy River District

Learning Resources

Sigmund Brouwer - Canadian Author

Through our Writer In Residence program with Sigmund Brouwer — the author of over 100 books — we are pleased to make his Academy of Writers curriculum available to all our parents within the Rainy River District School Board. These are highly engaging video lessons that are each about ten minutes long, with suggested follow up activities. If you’d like to participate in the lessons with your child, you are welcome to download these three pdfs which have more information. The first lesson will be available on-line on Monday, March 23. New lessons will be released on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of each week.

Connected North, the Rainy River District School Board, Cisco, and a variety of Connected North providers are pleased to offer opportunities for students across the board to connect to museums, zoos, artists, storytellers and other amazing organizations to offer unique learning experiences while students are at home.

Beginning Monday, March 23, live webinars will be listed on the RRDSB Facebook page.

Ministry of Education Resources - www.ontario.ca/learnathome

Find supplementary resources for elementary and secondary students to practice math and literacy skills and learn at home. While these materials do not replace what students have been learning at school, during this unusual time, these at-home activities offer quick and easy access to some of Ontario’s best online kindergarten to grade 12 learning resources.
