The Student Nutrition and Support program helps to address challenges to regular attendance and success at school. It facilitates consistent nutrition programs at all Rainy River District School Board schools and provides support for basic personal needs, works to reduce barriers to attendance and participation and supports student pathways.

VISION INFORMATION AND SUPPORTS:
Annual eye exams for children ages 0-19 are covered by OHIP. Please contact your local optometrist to schedule an eye exam for your child / children.
Parent's Checklist for Children's Vision Problems
The cost of eye glasses may be covered by the following programs Eye See...Eye Learn or Better Sight. Better Grades. Your optometrist may not offer all eye glasses programs. When making the appointment ask which programs they offer.

DENTAL INFORMATION AND SUPPORTS:
The Government of Canada has recently launched the Canadian Dental Plan (CDCP) to support Canadians who do not have access to dental insurance. When fully implemented, the CDCP will benefit up to 9 million uninsured Canadian residents and will help cover the cost of various oral health care services.
Services to be covered will include:
- preventative services, including scaling (cleaning), sealants and fluoride
- diagnostic services, including examinations and x-rays
- restorative services, including fillings
- endodontic services, including root canal treatments
- prosthodontic services, including complete and partial removable dentures
- periodontal services, including deep scaling
- oral surgery services, including extractions
