Rainy River K-12 school to proceed

RRHSThe Rainy River District School Board is pleased to receive Approval to Proceed in the amount of $23,541,549 from the Ministry of Education for a 311-pupil place JK-Grade 12 school, a two room 39 place child care centre and a one room EarlyON Centre in Rainy River.

The project will support the consolidation of Rainy River High School and Riverview Elementary.

“This project has been in the works for some time and we are now prepared to move ahead to the next phase of this project,” said Raymond Roy, Chair of the Rainy River District School Board.  “A new consolidated and fully accessible learning environment will be a significant asset to our students, staff, and the community.”

“We are excited to be able to move ahead with this project,” said Heather Campbell, Director of Education of the Rainy River District School Board. “This investment will provide our students and their families with welcoming, safe, and supportive teaching and learning environments to enhance student achievement and well-being.” 

The Board is expected to issue a request for proposal to general contractors early this summer to move forward with the project.
