The Rainy River District Transportation Services Consortium is pleased to announce that following an extensive procurement process, all routes have been awarded for the 2018-2019 school year. As a result, a new school bus transportation provider, First Student, will now provide service in the Rainy River District. First Student is a leading provider of school transportation solutions in North America and will take on 20 routes for the upcoming school year.
"As student safety remains our top priority, we are confident First Student will deliver the high-quality transportation services that we expect," said Nikki Armstrong, Manager of the Rainy River District Transportation Services Consortium.
"We look forward to working closely with the Rainy River District Transportation Services Consortium and appreciate the trust that has been placed in us," said Della Spencer, First Student location manager. "We are committed to using our insights, expertise and resources to provide the best start and finish to the school day for the students and families of the Fort Frances and Atikokan communities."
First Student currently operates across 39 states and 7 Canadian provinces and comes highly recommended by neighbouring transportation consortia. Both the Rainy River District School Board and Northwest Catholic District School Board are pleased to welcome First Student to its communities.
