At Rainy River District School Board, every 3-5 years we engage in a strategic planning process that results in the establishment of priorities to focus our efforts on student achievement and success. The level of digital technology use during the pandemic has significantly increased for most people, including our children/youth. In addition to online learning, digital technology has helped us to stay connected with family and friends and to engage in some recreational activities.

Rainy River District School Board has been allocated $2,068,000 for facility upgrades through the COVID-19 Resilience Infrastructure Stream (CVRIS) to help reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission.

We are inviting parents/guardians of students in Grades 4-12 to fill out a school climate survey to help schools gain insight into parent/guardian perceptions of school safety. The survey also assists in making informed decisions and plans to help promote safe and inclusive schools and student health and well-being. The survey is open until March 8, 2021.

Did you know that in terms of work / life balance, job satisfaction, and overall wellbeing, skilled trades professionals rank among the highest? Join Dr. Jon Callegher from JobTalks Tuesday March 9 at 7 PM Central for a virtual presentation outlining his research, and why young people should consider skilled trades and apprenticeship as a pathway to a successful life and career. You will also learn how students can get a head start on skilled trades and apprenticeship through the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program at the Rainy River District School Board.

The health and safety of students and staff is always our top priority. As with all public health matters, the Rainy River District School Board is working closely with Northwestern Health Unit and other health agencies to monitor and address concerns regarding COVID-19.

As we develop the 2020-2021 budget, the Rainy River District School Board is seeking your input regarding budget priorities for the upcoming school year.

​The Ministry of Education has launched an online survey on bullying in Ontario schools for students, parents/guardians​​ and school staff. The survey will be used to gather information to help the ministry better understand this complex issue and help find new ways to make schools safer and more inclusive.

Self Identification is a voluntary program designed to help First Nation, Métis and Inuit students fulfill their academic potential and further their personal well-being.

The Rainy River District School Board will offer a Summer Learning Program for students in SK to grade 5 from July 2 to July 19, 2019.

Effective speech language and hearing skills support students in accessing the curriculum, getting along socially with others, and participating in school. The ability of students to understand and use language to communicate will affect their academic, social, and vocational success.

This presentation will be held April 3, 2019 at the RRDSB Education Centre. It is designed to assist parents with identifying potentially problematic gaming behaviour for their children and offered them strategies to help moderate any negatively associated consequences.

The school boards in Northwestern Ontario have teamed up to once again offer families a Regional Kindergarten Registration Week for 2019. During this special week, February 25th to March 1st, schools across the region will be hosting open house events and activities to support families with registering their child for school for September 2019.

The HERE campaign aims to build awareness and provide communication tools to help improve attendance in our schools.

Eye See...Eye Learn provides free glasses to JK students until June 30, 2019. Current JK students (born 2014) are eligible.
