Students have been busy preparing for the provincial Assessment of Reading, Writing and Mathematics being administered by the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) to all Grades 3 & 6 students beginning next week. Used as a tool for improvement planning at the student, school, school board and provincial levels, EQAO assessments are directly based on the expectations set out in The Ontario Curriculum, which is what teachers teach in the classroom every day. Students are simply encouraged to do their best and show what they know.
